Role:

Coordinates statistical activities across Benue State, liaising with the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) and Local Government Areas.

Functions:

• Conducting state-wide surveys (e.g., housing, agriculture).
• Managing census data and demographic updates.
• Collaborating with agencies like the National Population Commission (NPC)and the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) for geospatial and housing data as well as Nigerian national identity management systems data for Benue State respectively.

• Generating reports on employment, agriculture, and industrial trends.
• Supporting the Ministry of Finance and the Benue State Planning Commission budgetary and development planning data.

• Managing data from the NPC’s Enumeration Area Demarcation (EAD)exercise, which recently recorded 3.7 million buildings in Benue (2023).
